The Seven Plagues prophesied in Revelation 15 and 16, bring ultimate destruction to the earth and all that dwell in it. They are poured at the sounding of the 7th Trumpet. This is God's wrath on the beast and his followers who refuse to repent. It will cause the ultimate destruction of planet earth, which will be thoroughly cleansed of wickedness. In John's prophetic vision, given on the island of Patmos, seven angels pour seven vials containing devastating plagues onto the earth, as follows:
1st vial – Grievous sores appear on those with the mark of the beast and those who worshiped its image. (Rev. 16:2)
2nd vial – Poured on the sea making it as the blood of a dead man and killing every living thing in the sea (Rev. 16:3)
3rd vial – Poured on the rivers and fountains and they become blood. (Rev. 16:4-7)
4th vial – Poured on the sun. Men are scorched with fire. (Rev. 16:8-9)
5th vial – Poured on the seat of the beast and his kingdom of darkness, yet they blaspheme God and do not repent. (Rev. 16:10-11)
6th vial – Poured on the Euphrates River causing the water to dry up so the way of the kings of the east is prepared. Three unclean spirits come out of the mouth of the dragon, the beast, and the false prophet; the spirits of devils work miracles to entice followers, gathering them for the battle of Armageddon and their ultimate destruction. (Rev. 16:12)
7th vial – Poured in the air, saying “It is done”. Voices, thunderings, and the greatest earthquake ever divides the city into three parts and causing the fall of the cities of the nations. The islands fall away and the mountains were not found. Great hail weighing 75-100 lbs. falls, yet men blaspheme God and do not repent. (Rev. 16:17-21)
